This walk starts at Ty Cwch and follows the Wales Coast Path north out of Cwmtydu. Iolo Williams has named this stretch as his favourite section of the whole path, and it’s easy to see why. The path climbs above the cove and runs along the cliff top, with views across Cardigan Bay and a good chance of seeing dolphins or seals below.

Keep an eye out for choughs and other seabirds along this section too.

The return leg cuts inland, following quiet lanes and a wooded valley back down to Cwmtydu. It’s a different kind of walking — shaded, sheltered from the wind, and a good contrast to the open cliff path. You’ll pass through farmland and woodland before dropping back down into the valley and back to Ty Cwch.

Good boots are worth it after rain, as the coast path can get muddy in places. Bring binoculars if you have them — the dolphin and seal spotting is one of the best reasons to do this walk rather than just look at the view from the beach.
